INDUCTION PROGRAMME FOR PUCV
NOVICE TEACHERS
El programa de inducción para profesores principiantes de la PUCV
está constituido por actividades e iniciativas enfocadas a mejorar
la adaptación de los profesores principiantes en el sistema escolar.
Esto involucra tanto actividades de formación disciplinaria como
pedagógica. Por medio de este programa, la PUCV se hace responsable
de los procesos formativos que realiza en la formación inicial de
profesores y se compromete a fortalecer la experiencia práctica de los
profesores principiantes en los establecimientos escolares.
Al inicio de su vida laboral, el profesor principiante pasa por distintas
etapas, que involucran aspectos relacionados a la sobrevivencia en la
cultura escolar, asuntos administrativos, eficiencia de la enseñanza
y preocupación por los estudiantes. En este sentido, el programa de
inducción para profesores está organizado en tres fases:
• FASE 1. INDUCCIÓN A LA CULTURA ESCOLAR: Durante esta
etapa (primer año como profesor principiante) se establecerá
un vínculo con la práctica final y se ofrecerán herramientas que
permitan al profesor principiante un mejor conocimiento acerca
de aspectos laborales y de prácticas experienciales asociadas a la
vida escolar.
• FASE 2. MEJORANDO LA ENSEÑANZA: En esta fase (segundo
año como profesor principiante), se apoyará a los profesores
principiantes en temáticas relacionadas con aspectos
disciplinarios, por ejemplo, evaluación, innovación, uso de
tecnologías para la enseñanza, entre otros.
• FASE 3. REFLEXIÓN ACERCA DE LA ENSEÑANZA: Esta fase
(tercer y cuarto año como profesor principiante) apoyará al
profesor principiante en el análisis y la reflexión de su propia

54 práctica y el impacto que tiene su docencia en el aprendizaje en
sus estudiantes.
The induction programme for PUCV novice teachers contains activities
and initiatives focused on improving these teachers’ adaptation to
the school system by means of disciplinary and pedagogical training
activities. This programme has the PUCV take responsibility for the
formative processes of initial teachers’ training and take on a firm
commitment to strengthening their practical experience in schools.
In the early stages of their work life, novice teachers need to develop
acute awareness of their own internship term in the school culture, the
school’s administration as well as their teaching effectiveness and care
of the students.
• STAGE 1 INDUCTION TO SCHOOL CULTURE: During this
stage (first year as novice teachers), a link to the Final Practice
is established and tools that help to have a better knowledge of
labour-related factors and of experiential practices associated with
school life are offered.
• STAGE 2 IMPROVEMENT TO TEACHING: In this stage (second year
as novice teachers) they receive support for disciplinary actions,
such as assessment, innovation, teaching technologies, among
others.
• STAGE 3 REFLECTION ON TEACHING: This stage (third and fourth
year as novice teachers) gives them support for the analysis of and
reflection on their own performance and the impact their teaching
has on their students’ learning.
